李青萍

李青萍美术作品

李青萍（1911-2004）湖北荆州人。1931年考入武昌美术专科学校。1932年由武昌美专校长唐义精推荐到上海新华艺术专科学校学习。1935年新华艺专毕业，留上海闸北安徽中学任教。1937年在新华艺专研究生班攻读西画。
1939年参与刘海粟、勒贝尔、司徒乔、杨曼生在马六甲、槟城、暗邦举办的联合巡回画展。1941年，受“南洋华侨总会”委托，接待应陈嘉庚之邀来南洋讲学的徐悲鸿，协助徐悲鸿筹办画展。同年，《南洋商报》出版由徐悲鸿作序、题写书名的《青萍画集》。1942年春回国。在上海刘海粟为其办理“教授证”，建议她留校任教。
后因政局混乱回到荆州。不久在武汉汉口画廊举办个人画展。1943年秋，返上海拜见刘海粟，母校在大新公司为她举办画展，刘海粟参观后说“今之西画引进中国，只有你与我为先行。”同年冬，应上海中日协会邀请赴东京、大阪、横滨等地举办画展，被日本文艺界誉为“中国画坛一娇娜”。1944年在上海、无锡、天津、北京等地举办画展。1946年夏，齐白石在北京“六国饭店”参观她的画展并题词“李青萍小姐画无女儿气。”同年上海商务印书馆出版《李青萍旅行日记》。1951年上半年调入人民美术出版社，随后下派到苏北治淮工程指挥部体验生活。1966年起文化大革命期间，多次被批斗、游街。靠卖棒冰、糊纸盒、拾破烂度日。1982年江陵县政府确认她的归侨身份，恢复其公职，作干部退1987年李青萍成为中国美术家协会会员。1992年省首届文化节在荆州举行，李青萍泼彩画作了专题展出。1995年李青萍传记《生的回声》由东方出版社出版。1997年后，民间收藏的李青萍作品被香港苏富比公司、台湾多家艺术公司争相拍卖。2003年湖北美术出版社出版《李青萍画集》，2007年四川美术出版社出版《千峰万仞间-李青萍画集》。
