蔡国强

蔡国强，出生于中国福建省泉州市，毕业于上海戏剧学院舞台美术系，1986年至1995年旅居日本，80年代中期开始使用中国发明的火药创作作品，是近几年在国际艺坛上最受瞩目的中国人之一，他的艺术创作对西方艺术界产生了巨大冲击力，西方媒体称之为“蔡国强旋风”。
蔡国强1994年参加广岛市当代美术馆举办的《亚洲之创造力》展览，以《地球也有黑洞》为题，在广岛市中央公园制作了大规模的爆破计划，使用900米长的导火线和火药弹，点爆了漂浮于空中的大气球上的装置，获得了日本文化大奖——“广岛奖”，成为该奖1989年设立以来第一个获奖的中国艺术家。1995年移居纽约，更为活跃于世界各地，除了使用火药，还将中国传统文化之中药，风水等引入作品，例如以《文化大混浴》为题的观众参与型作品，是邀请观众一起入浴而共同完成的。他在1999年荣获威尼斯双年展的金狮奖，成为中国文化界在国际上第一位获得这一奖项的艺术家，该奖也是中国艺术在国际大展中获得的最高奖项。近年来，他成功地将火药用在艺术创作上，更是让人刮目相看，为中国艺术创作走向世界走出了一条独特的道路。其代表作有雄心勃勃的“万里长城”延长1万米的计划，上海APEC的大型景观焰火表演，“9·11”恐怖袭击之后的代表正义正气的《移动彩虹和光轮》，最近在美国首都举行的中国文化节上创作的象征着中国文化和力量的《龙卷风》等大型爆炸艺术设计等。目前担任2008年北京奥林匹克运动会开闭幕式的核心创意成员及视觉特效艺术总设计。蔡国强以其独特的中国宇宙观及哲学根底，探求人类普遍的共通问题，作为一名以不同于西欧的亚洲视点发言的现代艺术家倍受瞩目。
